Frequently Asked Questions
At Aire Clinic, we understand that seeking mental health support can feel overwhelming. We are here to support you.
Below you’ll find answers to some of the most common questions patients and referrers have about our services.
Do I need a referral to see a psychiatrist?
Yes. A valid referral from your GP or another medical specialist is required to access Medicare rebates for psychiatry appointments.
How do I arrange an appointment?
Once we receive your referral, our team will contact you to discuss the next available appointment. Please note we do not offer walk-in appointments.
Who should I address the referral to?
Referrals can be addressed to either Dr Brennan or Dr McCartney. If you are not sure who your preference is, please contact us.
How can referrals be sent?
We prefer referrals via HealthLink secure messaging. Referrals can also be submitted through our online referral form. Please ensure your provider number is included.
What are your fees?
We are a private billing clinic. Fees vary depending on the type and duration of the consultation. A detailed fee schedule is available on request.
Can I claim a Medicare rebate?
Yes. With a valid referral, most consultations are eligible for a Medicare rebate. The rebate amount depends on the length and nature of the appointment.
Do you offer Telehealth appointments?
Yes. Aire Clinic provides secure Telehealth appointments for patients who cannot attend in person. This is particularly valuable for patients living in rural or remote areas.
Are Telehealth consultations eligible for Medicare rebates?
Yes. Telehealth appointments attract the same Medicare rebates as in-person consultations, provided you have a valid referral.
What conditions do you treat?
We see adults with a wide range of mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, eating disorders, ADHD, PTSD, mood disorders, perinatal, reproductive and perimenopausal mental health difficulties, trauma-related conditions, and adjustment challenges.
What if I need urgent help?
Aire Clinic is not an emergency service. If you are in crisis or need immediate support, please call 000, attend your nearest emergency department, or contact Lifeline on 13 11 14.
Do you provide after-hours care?
No. We operate during business hours only. For urgent support outside these times, please contact your GP or a crisis service.
Do you welcome patients from diverse backgrounds?
Aire Clinic is committed to providing inclusive, respectful, and culturally sensitive care for people of all genders, sexualities, cultural backgrounds, and family structures.
